John Petrucci, guitarist for Dream Theater , has announced that he will release his solo album Terminal Velocity later this year. This will be Petrucci's first album since Suspended Animation in 2005.

Now, the guitarist has revealed that his former Dream Theater bandmate, drummer Mike Portnoy , will be playing drums on the album. They made a great duo until 2010, when Mike Portnoy left Dream Theater and was replaced by Mike Mangini. At the end of 2019, he said he would love to collaborate with Petrucci again: “We would both love to work together again. We formed a great team for 25 years as co-captains of Dream Theater and Liquid Tension Experiment .”

In addition to him, Petrucci also invited Dave LaRue from Flying Colors. Terminal Velocity doesn't yet have a release date, but the guitarist has revealed the album cover and tracklist . See below.
