John Lydon , former vocalist for the Sex Pistols and Public Imaged Ltd. , shared his perspective on the band reuniting without his participation.

Rotten 's resentment , now Lydon's, towards his former bandmates in the seminal English punk band seems never to cease, even decades after their final split during their US tour in 1978.

With Steve Jones , Glen Matlock , and Paul Cook , founding members of the Sex Pistols, touring without him, the feeling only worsened. Initially, the reunion was only supposed to be for a charity event that took place last year, but the shows kept increasing and the tour followed. These shows are receiving good reviews from the press, as well as a good reception from a segment of the fans.

However, in recent interviews promoting his European tour with Public Image Ltd., Lydon didn't hold back in his criticism of his former bandmates. Speaking to Louder Than War , he stated: “I was shocked at how bad it is. It looks like they just rented a puppet and there it is. I really think it's a karaoke with pretty mediocre results.”

Regarding Frank Carter, who is handling vocals on the reunion tour, he was even more emphatic in a conversation with the PA news agency (via The Independent ), also revealing whether a reunion with his former bandmates is still possible: “Never, not after what I consider their dirty tricks. Let them keep wallowing in Disney's 'woke' expectations. They killed the content, or did their best to do so, and turned everything into a childish farce, which is unacceptable.”

Sex Pistols in Brazil for the third time.

The first time the members of the Sex Pistols set foot on Brazilian soil wasn't to perform concerts, but rather at the invitation of a director who was producing a documentary about the band. This documentary features the iconic scene of Sid Vicious descending the stairs of a theater while performing his punk version of Frank Sinatra .

The second time was during the Close Up Planet festival, which took place in 1996 in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, and featured Lydon on vocals. Now, the band has confirmed their presence at The Town , but with Frank Carter taking over the microphone, which takes place on September 7th and will also feature Iggy Pop and Green Day in the lineup.
