John & Yoko: Above Us Only Sky will be released in September.
Taking advantage of the re-release of Imagine , a new documentary will examine the relationship between John Lennon and Yoko Ono . John and Yoko: Above Us Only Sky will air before and during the album's release. It will feature interviews with Lennon, Ono, and the musicians who played on the record.
A new trailer for the film shows the couple spending time together where they recorded Imagine . Other interviewees recount the time they spent together and how they collaborated with Yoko on writing lyrics for Lennon.
Michael Epstein, nominated for an Oscar in 1996 for Battle Over Citizen Kane , directed the new documentary. The release date is set for September 13th and it will be available digitally, on DVD and Blu-ray.
