Julian John Lennon 's eldest son , was thrilled with the documentary Get Back , featuring previously unseen footage from the recording sessions for the Beatles ' Let It Be , released in three parts on Disney+.
Directed by Peter Jackson , the production reveals the group's creative process and the intimate relationship between Lennon, Paul McCartney , George Harrison , and Ringo Starr , with over 50 hours of restored footage, all originally recorded in January 1969.
Born to Lennon and Cynthia Powell , the musician's first wife, Julian always had a troubled relationship with his father, who died when he was 17 years old. Watching the documentary was an important experience and brought back good memories.
“The only thing I can truly say about all of this is that it made me incredibly proud, inspired, and I felt more love for my/our family than ever before. The film made me love my father again, in a way I can’t fully describe. Thank you to everyone who helped make this project a reality!” he wrote, posting a photo alongside Sean , Lennon’s son with Yoko Ono .
Divided into three episodes, the production, which is over six hours long, already had its first part released this Thursday, the 25th, and the following episodes will be released on November 26th and 27th on Disney+.
