A copy of the album that John Lennon autographed for Mark Chapman hours before he was murdered by him is going up for auction.
On December 8, 1980, Chapman asked Lennon to autograph a copy of Double Fantasy he owned. Five hours later, he shot the Beatle , who died that same day. The autographed copy of Lennon's collaboration with Yoko Ono was handed over to the New York police as evidence of the crime.
According to the Goldin Auctions , responsible for the auction of the record, police markings appear on both sides of the item. The auction began last Monday, the 23rd, with a starting price of $400,000 (approximately R$ 2 million). More information can be found here.
