In 1972, John Lennon and Yoko Ono co-hosted The Mike Douglas Show for a week. This period will be the focus of a new documentary, called Daytime Revolution , which is already finished producing.

Featuring archival footage and interviews with participants, the documentary is directed by Erik Nelson and received permission from Yoko Ono and Sean Lennon , John's son, to be made.

According to NME , the new documentary about the couple aims to showcase the quality of the debates on controversial topics that Lennon and Yoko hosted with a series of special guests. Topics discussed in the program include environmental conservation and police brutality.

“I watched those broadcasts in their entirety and realized that, in that week in 1972, when Lennon and Ono essentially hijacked the transmission lines and presented the best minds and dreams of that generation to the largest possible mass audience… That’s as far as the counterculture could go,” commented the director.

Currently, Daytime Revolution does not have a release date, but production has been completed and the documentary team is seeking distributors for the project.

On the internet, you can find episodes of the couple on the show from 1972. See below for their appearance on February 17th.
