Guitarist John 5 , currently a member of Mötley Crüe , revealed in an interview that he no longer maintains contact with his former boss Rob Zombie since leaving his band to join the group.
The professional separation between the two musicians occurred in 2022, after 16 years together. John 5, who was officially announced as the new guitarist for Mötley Crüe in October of that year, replaced Mick Mars , who retired from touring due to ankylosing spondylitis, a chronic inflammatory disease.
In an interview on The Jasta Show , John stated that there are no hard feelings between him and Zombie, but that they simply haven't spoken since Zombie announced his decision to continue with Mötley Crüe.
“Rob wished me good luck and told me to ‘get them’ and all that stuff,” the guitarist revealed. “But we just didn’t talk. I don’t think there’s any resentment or anything like that.”

Transition between bands
John 5's departure from Rob Zombie's band was rather abrupt. During his last performance with Zombie at the 2022 Louder Than Life festival, the guitarist had already communicated his decision to the vocalist.
A few weeks later, at the Aftershock festival, Zombie surprised the audience by introducing Mike Riggs as his new guitarist, stating that he had returned "after a 20-year absence."
Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx stated that he felt guilty about John leaving his former band. "It wasn't my decision. It was John's decision."
Currently, the hard rock band has released several songs since John 5 joined them, including "Cancelled," released in early October.
