Drummer talks about shows with Slipknot

Former Slipknot drummer and current Vimic drummer Joey Jordison spoke further to Metal Hammer about his statement at the Golden Gods Awards, in which he confessed to suffering from transverse myelitis , a degenerative neurological disease.

Now, Jordison elaborates further on the story: “We were at the last shows we were doing in memory of Paul Gray. We were in Canada, at the end of my last shows with Slipknot, and something happened to me. I didn't know what it was. I was super sick.

You can be sick and still play, but this was something I had never felt in my life before. We found out that what I have is transverse myelitis, a neurological condition that affects your spinal cord, and it has completely disabled my legs. It's like having your legs cut off, basically.

"I played these last few shows and it completely scared me. I didn't know what it was."

Jordison explains that some people assumed he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol: "I wasn't even drinking. Everything was perfect. Everything was as it should be. But I had to be carried onto the stage. The pain is something I've never felt in my life, and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy."
