An unreleased interview with Joey Jordison , former drummer of Slipknot and Sinsaenum , has been leaked by the Danish channel Metal A Day .

The conversation took place in 2018, during the tour promoting the album Repulsion for Humanity , released that year, the last album released by the blackened death metal band to date.

The channel published an uncut version of the interview, in which Jordison spoke about the joy of being on tour, seeing Sinsaenum's audience growing ever larger, and explained how the fans were an incentive to keep going.

“We don’t need to perform. We could be at home with our families. But the point is, with a real musician, you do it, even if you don’t want to or don’t feel like it some days – 30 seconds on stage, everything becomes history and you’re happy to be there. And you’re grateful for that,” he said (via MetalSucks ). “It’s the fans [who keep me motivated].”

Throughout the interview, Jordison emphasized how satisfied he was with each step of the new musical project alongside the band, which was still playing in smaller venues as it was in the early stages of its career, with its second album recently released.

Answering briefly about his health, Jordison said that being on tour helped him stay in shape, especially in an extreme metal band. "That's one good thing about being on tour – you play every day, you're constantly on the move, you have to travel everywhere… It's constant exercise," he said.

Joey Jordison died on July 25, 2021, at the age of 46. The cause of death was not disclosed.
