Drummer Joey Jordison posted a statement yesterday on his official Facebook page, detailing his departure from Slipknot. According to the drummer, his exit from the band came as a surprise to him.

I'd like to start this new year by addressing the recent rumors and speculation about my departure from Slipknot. I want to make it very clear that I DID NOT QUIT SLIPKNOT. This band has been my life for the last 18 years, and I would never abandon it, or abandon my fans. This news shocked and surprised me as much as it did you. There are many things I'd like to talk about, but I need to reserve more details for now. I'd like to thank everyone for all the love and support, and wish everyone a happy and healthy new year.”
Last month, Corey Taylor stated that he could not comment on the drummer's departure and did not provide any details about what happened.
