According to a statement from his family , Joey Jordison , former drummer of Slipknot , died this Monday, the 26th. The cause of death has not yet been released, but the family stated that the musician died "peacefully in his sleep."
“We are heartbroken to share the news that Joey Jordison, prolific drummer, musician and artist, passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 26, 2021. He was 46 years old,” the statement read. “Joey’s passing has left us with empty hearts and feelings of indescribable sadness. For those who knew Joey, they understood his quick wit, his gentle personality, his giant heart, and his love for all things family and music. Joey’s family asks that friends, fans, and the media respect our need for privacy and peace during this very difficult time. The family will arrange a private funeral and asks that the media and the public respect their wishes.”
Jordison was a co-founding member of Slipknot and remained with the band from 1995 to 2013. Rest in peace, Joey.
