Joey DeMaio wants the band to change its logo.
Manowar bassist Joey DeMaio is battling an all-female cover band called Womanowar.
DeMaio tried to remove all the band's videos from YouTube, but since he doesn't own the copyright to the name, his attempt failed and YouTube decided to keep the videos.
Now, he is seeking to change the logo of the cover band. His lawyers sent them a notification asking them to change the logo, since it is similar to Manowar's – which is a common practice among cover bands.
According to DeMaio, the similarity between the logos could cause confusion among fans. While a decision on a new logo is pending, the band Womanowar is using a temporary one:
