In a recent interview with Logan Crosland of The Logan Show , Joel Hoekstra , guitarist for Whitesnake , shared details about how he was invited to replace Phil Shouse ACCEPT 's performances in 2024.

In an interview that aired on February 1st, Joel commented ( via Blabbermouth ): “Everything worked out. It happened really fast. And Wolf , guitarist and leader of ACCEPT, is a really brilliant, insightful, and super friendly guy, as well as being a great performer.” The connection between the two was made possible through musician Michael Cartellone of Damn Yankees. The Whitesnake guitarist added: “Michael first said he would connect me with Wolf, and everything happened in minutes. I mentioned I would be in Nashville with the Trans-Siberian Orchestra in a few days and suggested we grab coffee. Two days later, or so, we were all ready to go ahead with it because it made sense for both of us.”

The musician also answers how he sees this new challenge with ACCEPT and his expectations for playing with the band. Joel says: “They are a great live band. Wolf is a great guitarist, with a killer tone. And they are a machine live. All the YouTube footage I've seen is very impressive and I'm looking forward to being a part of it.”

Philip Shouse will remain at ACCEPT

Joel Hoekstra's illustrious presence at the band's 2024 performances was very well received by fans of the German band. Phil, for his part, did not reveal details of the reason for his departure, but Accept confirmed on social media that he will remain after the tour that will take place this year.

The band's guitarist worried the public in April 2023 when he fainted due to food poisoning and dehydration shortly before boarding a flight in Lima.
