Musician fell ill after a show in the US and was rushed to the hospital
UPDATE (11/19/2018 – 12:32 PM): The guitarist has been discharged from the hospital and returned home.
Legendary guitarist Joe Perry was hospitalized on Saturday night, the 10th, minutes after performing alongside Billy Joel at Madison Square Garden in New York.
According to TMZ, Perry collapsed in his dressing room after the show. Paramedics attended to the musician at the scene, inserting a tracheostomy tube down his throat to clear his airway. He was then rushed to the hospital.
On Sunday the 11th, the guitarist was still hospitalized, according to his press officer, and is awake and communicating. Perry had to cancel a show scheduled for this week in Florida but "should resume his tour at the end of this month." The cause of his illness was not revealed.
