Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry performed alongside Billy Joel
UPDATE (11/19/2018 – 12:32 PM): The guitarist has been discharged from the hospital and returned home.
Joe Perry , guitarist for Aerosmith , was performing with Billy Joel at Madison Square Garden last Saturday, November 10th. According to TMZ , Perry collapsed in his dressing room after the show.
Paramedics attended to the musician at the scene, inserting a tracheostomy tube down his throat to clear his airway. They then rushed Perry to the hospital.
Perry's representatives confirmed that his condition is now stable.
"Following a guest appearance at a Billy Joel concert, Joe Perry experienced shortness of breath and was treated backstage by paramedics. This morning, Perry remains in the hospital where he is alert and responding well," a statement confirmed.
The musician had to cancel his upcoming appearances, but is expected to return to performing by the end of November.
