2022 was a year of many interesting releases in rock and metal, but for Joe Elliott of Def Leppard , none of them compare to Demi Lovato .
Disney star released her eighth album, Holy Fvck , in August, where she adopted a more rock-oriented approach. To prove she wanted to put on a serious live show, Lovato hired none other than guitarist Nita Strauss , who took a break from her commitments with Alice Cooper to join the singer on tour and bring more weight to her music.
The result seems to have surprised the Def Leppard vocalist. In an interview with Classic Rock , Joe Elliott named some of his favorite albums of 2022 and made a special comment about Demi Lovato's album (via Loudersound ).
“I have a few [favorites]. Eddie Vedder ’s Earthling ; The White Lies’ As I Try Not To Fall Apart ; the Von Hertzen Brothers ’ Red Alert in the Blue Forest ; and… Shock! Terror! I like the new Jethro Tull [ The Zealot Gene ],” he admitted. “But the album that blows me away more than anything else I’ve heard this year is Holy Fvck . The riffs are fantastic and her vocals are out of this world!”
Lovato, who came to Brazil in August to perform in São Paulo, Belo Horizonte, and at Rock in Rio , recently revealed that she is back in the studio and posted an ironic video on her TikTok account suggesting that she will continue to move her sound further away from pop.
Joe Elliott came to Brazil in 2023 for a one-off performance with Def Leppard and Mötley Crüe in São Paulo. Tickets are on sale.
