Lead singer dies of cancer
Legendary vocalist Joe Cocker passed away on December 22nd at the age of 70 after a long battle with lung cancer. Cocker had a career spanning over 40 albums and was known for unforgettable covers, such as his version of "With A Little Help From My Friends ".
Various musicians and bands, including Ringo Starr, Slash, Steven Tyler, and Motörhead, posted messages regarding the vocalist's death.
Paul McCartney stated that he will be eternally grateful to Cocker, who, according to him, transformed " With A Little Help From My Friends" into an anthem. "I was so happy when he decided to re-record the song. I remember when he came to the studio and showed me what he had done. It was absolutely incredible."
