Singer and punk icon João Gordo , vocalist of Ratos de Porão , released his version of the song "Tô Doidão" by Reginaldo Rossi .
The track is the newest single from the album Brutal Brega , a project in which he interprets classic brega music in punk rock versions. The full album will be released by the Wikimetal Music label on October 6th, digitally and on physical CD.
The song, originally composed in French as "Les Dalton" by Joe Dassin , became a classic when adapted into Portuguese by Reginaldo Rossi. João Gordo's version also includes a music video directed by Raul Machado , who also directed the videos for the previous singles, "Fuscão Preto," "Tenho," and "Ciganinha."
Brutal Brega project emerged during the pandemic, conceived by producer Val Santos ( VIPER , Toyshop ). With live shows on hold, Val decided to record punk versions of Brazilian music classics for fun and sent the tracks to João to record the vocals. In a short time, the duo had dozens of songs recorded remotely and an album ready. The album cover, as well as the artwork for each single, was created by illustrator and designer Wagner Loud.
Brutal Brega will be released on October 6th via the Wikimetal Store website . More details will be released soon.
