On April 26th, Nando Machado interviewed João Gordo Ratos do Porão , for the fourth episode of The Wikimetal Happy Hour . Did you miss this unmissable conversation or want to relive the best moments of this chat? No problem, check out the highlights of this conversation.

Nando and Gordo began the conversation talking about the inevitable subject, the COVID-19 pandemic, and soon moved on to comment on the musician's state of health, who was hospitalized four times with pneumonia last year, as he had already mentioned in an interview with Wikimetal last month.

Regarding Ratos do Porão, João says that the band had to cancel several dates due to his health condition, but the shows the group did as a trio were not compromised. The band was planning to return, including shows in Portugal, but in the middle of rehearsals, the quarantine was activated. Meanwhile, he is working on a project to transform some Ratos songs into rockabilly to celebrate the band's 40th anniversary.

The artist also commented on the origins of the vegan restaurant Central Panelaço, and the beginning of the incredible Vegan Solidarity movement.

Speaking about João's classic stories, Nando shows Gordo some album covers, starting with two stories about the Ramones : when the band came to Brazil for the first time in '86, the artist went with Dee Dee Ramone to look for a newsstand for the bassist who, among other things in English that João didn't quite understand, stated that Sid Vicious was innocent. And the second time, in '91, when he had the surreal opportunity to play with the band.

Nando also shows the cover of Sepultura 's Schizophrenia , and Gordo takes the opportunity to mention that he and Andreas Kisser will be discussing all the Sepultura albums he's played on. João also shares details about his relationship with Max Cavalera.

Gordo also comments on the recent departures from the band Nervosa , comparing them to Sepultura and suggesting that the artists should cool off during quarantine, as they were about to take over the world.

The artist also recounts that he once watched a Sex Pistols from the stage and saw Johnny Rotten with a book of the band's lyrics to perform the show, which infuriated Gordo.

Gordo also took the opportunity to praise Supla, and declared that between the eternal rivalry between the Rolling Stones and the Beatles , he prefers the Englishmen in their starched suits.
