On July 26th, João Gordo will perform at Sesc Santo Amaro with the show Brutal Brega: MPB Mode . Tickets can be purchased online starting July 15th at 5 PM or at Sesc SP box offices starting July 16th at 5 PM. Find more information on the Sesc website .
The album Brutal Brega: MPB Mode follows up on the work begun in 2022 with the album Brutal Brega , which explored the repertoire of brega music in a punk/hardcore format.
The songs included were chosen because of the strong emotional connection João Gordo and producer Val Santos have with them. In the MPB Mode , songs like "Tropicana," "A Filha da Chiquita Bacana," and "Cavaleiro de Aruanda" received versions with João Gordo's distorted guitars.
Brutal Brega: MPB Mode is available on streaming platforms and on CD at the Wikimetal Store .
