Musician was hospitalized for the second time this year.

João Gordo has been admitted to the ICU once again with pneumonia, according to a statement released by the band Ratos de Porão.

The group is currently touring Brazil and was preparing for a series of shows in Europe, but those plans had to be cancelled. Read the full statement below.

"STATEMENT TO FANS"

The band Ratos de Porão announces that, for the time being, all shows until the end of 2019 are CANCELLED, including the European tour, due to João Gordo's new hospitalization. The group's vocalist is in the ICU with a severe case of pneumonia.

The rest of the schedule will depend on the artist's health. The performances in Ourinhos (August 10), Goiânia (August 11), and Fortaleza (August 17) will go ahead with guitarist Jão taking over vocals in place of João Gordo.

The band asks for the fans' understanding, as their priority at the moment is his health and recovery. João Gordo thanks everyone for their affection and understanding, and he will soon be recovered and giving his best.”

This is the second time this year that João Gordo has been hospitalized. The first time was in June of this year. The musician suffers from diabetes and, at the time, experienced complications from the disease.
