Directed by Kevin Kerslake and written by Joel Marcus, the film is described as "A look through the life of Joan Jett, from her founding years with The Runaways and her first meeting with manager Kenny Laguna in 1980, to her enduring presence in Rock N' Roll culture."
The documentary was financed by the record label BMG, and executive Justus Hardes said, “We are incredibly excited and proud. Joan is an American icon and Kevin Keslake has created an excellent film that truly captures her story.”
In 2015, Jett and his band The Blackhearts were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
