Jett spoke with Lars Ulrich on the drummer's radio show.

Lars Ulrich 's radio show , Joan Jett spoke about the end of The Runaways . The band is considered the first girl band of the 70s and included, besides Jett, Lita Ford , Cherie Currie , Jackie Fox , and Sandy West .

“I think after Cherie left, after Japan, we made an album that I think is really good, Waitin' For The Night . I think it was a natural progression. We were each discovering who we were as artists. Then, we started to diverge a little bit,” Jett recalled.

“I was definitely more into punk rock, rock and roll. But, you know, I like heavy music. But I think Lita and Sandy wanted to go in that direction more than I did,” he said. “I had a bad feeling about it. I didn’t want to get tired of the band I started.”

Joan added: “We made another album after that, but we decided to go our separate ways. We get along really well. So there’s no feud. It wasn’t anything personal. We just grew in different directions.”
