This Friday, the 18th, the Ukrainian progressive metal band Jinjer released their new single “Vortex” to promote the announcement of their fourth studio album, Wallflowers , which arrives on August 27th.

“This is a perfectly balanced song, in our opinion,” the band said in a statement. “The video is a journey, adding a new layer to the single, a new message, as Tatiana [ Shmailyuk , vocalist] sings about the burden of heavy thoughts and how devastating they can be.”

Regarding the new album, Jinjer states that the project marks an artistic growth for the band, describing it as a "different kind of album, musically and visually," not sounding like their older works.

“Creative growth has always been a major goal for us,” says bassist Eugene Abdukhanov . “The day Jinger stops trying to reach new musical horizons will be our last day as a band. We could have done what our partners expected or produced Pisces until we were exhausted, but we never did that and we never will. Instead, we wrote an album whose emotional levels range from the fiercest aggression we’ve ever had to the most intricate melodies and the most melancholic vibes you could want in our music.”

Wallflowers and new Jinjer merchandise are now available on the Napalm Records website.
