In practically 24 hours, fans of Jimmy Page and Led Zeppelin received both great and bad news: yesterday, an unreleased Rolling Stones song featuring the artist was released . However, now Page states that a tour with Led Zeppelin seems unlikely.
In an interview with the BBC 's Zoe Ball's Breakfast Show , the icon revealed details of conversations from the band's last reunion in 2007, and that at the time, the group seemed intent on doing a tour, which never happened. "It would have been great to have done it after the O2 [venue of the band's last show], because we put a lot of effort into the O2 show and were very involved. But it didn't work out," Page stated.
“We’re talking about a show that was huge at the time, but that was in 2007, and time flies,” the artist said sadly. Page also compares the likely excitement of the fans to a band reunion, in the same way that Rolling Stones still fill stadiums to see the group after so many years.
However, the lack of hope that anything will actually happen with Led Zeppelin in the future doesn't seem to please key figures in making it happen, such as Robert Plant , who stated in 2014 to Rolling Stone that, "A tour would have been an absolute variety of the most varied interests, and the essence of everything that's bullshit about big rock shows in stadiums."
