Jimi Bell , guitarist known for his work with House of Lords and Autograph , has stated that he is the composer of a track recorded by Black Sabbath . The song in question is "Master of Insanity" and is part of Dehumanizer , released in 1992.
In an interview with Ultimate Guitar , Bell said he never received credit or royalties for the track. The musician was "thrilled" to learn of the song's inclusion on the album, but his mood changed when he discovered he wouldn't receive proper credit.
Geezer [Butler] ’s wife , Gloria [Butler] . He had told me that [Black] Sabbath was going to reunite with Ronnie James Dio and wanted to use 'Master of Insanity' on the new album. I was thrilled, until I learned that I wouldn’t receive songwriting credit. Apparently, Tony Iommi didn’t want something written by another guitarist on a band record,” he said [transcription via Metal Injection ].
Jimi Bell also recalled the promise that the Black Sabbath had made to him. According to Jimi, Butler was going to pay him at the end of the tour that year, however, this did not happen. Because of this, he considers that he has already "come to terms" with everything that happened.
“Geezer thanked me in the liner notes and promised to pay me after the tour. I never saw the money. But hearing Dio sing a song I wrote was unforgettable. He even mentioned our collaboration in his book. Geezer also wrote about it in his autobiography, so I’ve come to terms with it,” he concluded.
