You probably remember Jim Carrey in iconic characters like The Mask and The Grinch , but the actor's talent is also perfect for imitating extreme metal bands, more specifically Napalm Death .
In an old interview published by Earache Records , the comedian was asked about music. “I love music, I like all kinds of music, but lately I’ve really gotten into this thrash metal thing. There’s something about it, I can’t stop listening to it,” he said.
Next, in the most absurd and typically Jim Carrey way possible, the actor imitated the sound of thrash metal, simulating the fast drums and guttural vocals in an expressive and comical manner.
"It's great, it's great. But there's this band called Napalm Death and it's so hilarious, I was listening to this album and it's exactly like that, I'm not even exaggerating," he said before attempting to demonstrate the sound of the extreme metal band.
As if that weren't enough, Carrey even imagined what it would be like if the Napalm Death vocalist decided to "slow down and do duets," simulating what a version of "You Don't Bring Me Flowers Anymore" by Barbra Streisand and Neil Diamond , with aggressive verses in extreme vocals.
In a more recent interview, from 2022, Jim Carrey talked about the day he was introduced to Pantera and had a completely unexpected reaction. You can watch it again here .
