In January, Jethro Tull made a grand comeback with the release of their 22nd album, The Zealot Gene , their first in nearly ten years.
The album was in production for almost five years and was made with a completely new lineup, retaining only vocalist Ian Anderson . After such a long wait, the album put Jethro Tull back on the commercial radar, placing the band in the Top 10 albums for the first time in 50 years ( Ultimate Guitar ).
Currently, The Zealot Gene is at number nine on the UK Album Charts Living In The Past in 1972, which also shared the chart with Thick as a Brick , which at the time was at number 5. This would have been the last time Jethro Tull was seen in the Top 10.
Last Sunday, the 6th, Jethro Tull kicked off their album tour in Padua, Italy. The band has dates scheduled across Europe throughout the year, and more information can be found here.
