Jerry Lee Lewis is recovering alongside his family

Jerry Lee Lewis suffered a stroke. The information was confirmed via his Facebook page.

“Last night, Jerry Lee Lewis suffered a minor stroke. He is with his family recovering in Memphis. Doctors expect a full recovery,” the statement read. “The Killer is eager to get back into the studio and record a gospel album on the road, performing live with fans. The family requests privacy at this time. Well wishes and prayers will be greatly appreciated.”

The singer, known for "Great Balls On Fire" and "Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On," began playing piano at age 9. He was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1986.
