Alice In Chains and Faith No More collaboration ? Most likely not, but AIC guitarist Jerry Cantrell is more than eager to reunite with FNM/ Mr. Bungle Mike Patton to see what might come of this meeting of minds.

Interviewed by Matt Stocks on his podcast Life In The Stocks , Cantrell praises Patton as an "insane" vocalist and expresses admiration for the singer's restless creativity.

Asked if he and Patton had ever played together, Cantrell replied, "Never, but I'd love to." He also revealed that he went to see Patton as the frontman of Mr. Bungle when the band played in Los Angeles in February 2020, their first show in 20 years.

“Patton is insane,” Cantrell says admiringly. “I love how versatile he is, the energy he has. He has so many different voices. I think he’s never satisfied, and that’s why he moves forward so quickly. It’s incredible to see all the notes and the different art he presents.”

“I also learned a bit from his book, from going it alone and making independent records,” Cantrell adds. “[Former Dillinger Escape Plan and Cantrell collaborator] Greg Puciato is also a good friend of Patton’s, and he has experience making independent records and running everything from a small family shop, rather than a big label. So that’s another really interesting feature about this album [ Brighten ]: it’s my first completely independent album. And I definitely took some notes and guidance from Greg, and also from Mike Patton through Greg.”
