Jeff Fenholt , known for starring in the original Broadway Jesus Christ Superstar
Sources confirmed the news to TMZ, saying that Jeff passed away last Tuesday, five days before his 69th birthday. The actor had been dealing with health problems for some time and was found dead at his home.
Jeff played Jesus in Andrew Lloyd Webber that premiered on Broadway in October 1971, remaining in the project for over 700 performances. He is also known for the controversy of having confessed that he was the vocalist for Black Sabbath for a few months in 1985 and that he composed some melodies with the British group, although he was never credited for them.
Tony Iommi , one of the band's founders, never confirmed Jeff's presence in the band, only confirming that he auditioned to join.
Rest in peace, Jeff Fenholt.
