Jean Patton announced his departure from Project46 this Tuesday, the 22nd, in a post on social media. The guitarist was one of the founders of the band, which has been active since 2008.

“There’s no easy way to say this, so here goes…” Jean wrote in his statement. “I will be saying goodbye to Project46 after 15 years with the awareness and pride of everything we built together, and that wisdom and experience also comes from accepting that cycles end so new ones can begin.”

In his writing, Jean talks about his childhood dream of being in a band and how the journey "wasn't easy." Now, the musician realizes he needs to forge new paths. "Life is like that... It takes us down different paths. As we get older, our opinions change, beliefs, goals, habits, and self-awareness also change. And we can't ignore that."

“I understood that today we are very different people and that the creative compatibility, in life and purpose, have followed paths that have gone beyond the point of return.” Jean also speaks about his love for Project46 and how it will continue: “My love for Project46 continues and is immortalized, even on my skin. Something so beautiful that was sculpted with sweat, blood and tears.”

The guitarist also says that the band didn't fight, "let that be clear," so much so that the tour taking place between September and November in Brazil will be the last with the current lineup. "For me, it's even more special because I'll be able to 'say goodbye' to you all by touring Brazil one more time."
