Slipknot's Jay Weinberg comments on Joey Jordison's death: "It's been tough."

“We were all affected,” the drummer commented, reflecting on how the band seeks to honor the legacy of the deceased former members.

In a recent radio interview , Slipknot drummer Jay Weinberg spoke about the death of his predecessor, Joey Jordison , who passed away in July. Weinberg stressed that he didn't want to speak on behalf of his bandmates who had been with Jordison since the beginning, but stated that "it's been tough."

“We were all affected,” he says. “For me, the way to preserve Joey and Paul [ Gray ]’s legacy is to fully commit to the ethos and spirit of that band. They live on through the music, no doubt about it. So, for me, that’s the truest tribute we can give. In respect to their memory, their art, their music, what they contributed to this world that had, and always will have, a lasting impact, [what we can do] is give our all to the music. For me, that’s the truest way to honor those who are gone.”

To date, the cause of Joey Jordison's death has not been released. Musician Frédéric Leclercq , his bandmate in Sinsaenum , recently gave an interview in which he stated that he knows how his friend died , but that it's "not his place" to talk about it. "Jordison's family asked for privacy at that time and I respect that. It's very sad," he commented.
