Jay Weinberg broke his silence following the news of his departure from Slipknot .
Last Sunday, the 5th, the band announced that they had made a "creative decision" to part ways with Weinberg, who had been the drummer since 2013, Joey Jordison 's departure . The post has since been deleted.
Last Saturday, Jay Weinberg used his social media to comment on his departure from Slipknot and mentioned feelings of "confusion and sadness".
“I was heartbroken and taken aback by the phone call I received on the morning of November 5th; news of which most of you learned shortly afterward,” Weinberg wrote. “However, I was overwhelmed—and truly grateful—for the outpouring of love and support I received from this incredible community that I consider my creative and artistic home.”
The drummer assured that he intends to continue making music and expressed gratitude for the journey of the last 10 years as the drummer for Slipknot.
“I don’t know how and I don’t know when, but I’m eager to create loud, passionate, and heartfelt music that we can enjoy together again,” he assured. “Until then, please know that it has been an immense joy to spend the last 10 years with you, sharing our love for this special corner of music and the artistic world.”
"This is not the end, and I'm eager to discover what the future holds for us," he concluded.
