Jean-Paul Gaster , drummer for the hard rock band Clutch , was cited as a source of inspiration .

"He's like a mentor to me, in a way. We probably see each other once every two years, but we have great conversations whenever we meet."

Weinberg goes on to describe how dedicated Gaster is to applying his knowledge and techniques to the drums. Furthermore, the musician describes how everyone has drawn inspiration from Clutch when managing a band.

"The same four guys since 1980, whatever that means, making inspired music. Doing it on their own terms, releasing it themselves."

Thus, Jay compares them to the English band:

"They're like the Led Zeppelin of our generation or something. Like, wow, what an incredible band and incredible musicians in everything they do."

Jay Weinberg is dedicated to his solo album.

Alongside his work with Suicidal Tendencies, the drummer is dedicated to his own musical project, which he has been working on for several months.

“I’m working on, for lack of a better way to say it, a solo album, but it’s certainly not solo, you know, in the sense that it’s not just me. I’m playing all the instruments and collaborating with many different vocalists who have inspired me.”
