Jay Weinberg reveals which Slipknot album he'd like to play in its entirety on tour

The drummer spoke about the excitement of playing lesser-known songs by the band

Jay Weinberg , drummer for Slipknot , was already a fan of the band before becoming a member and is very excited about the opportunity to play live songs never before performed during the Joey Jordison .

During an interview with Meatball of T95 The Rock Station , transcribed by Ultimate Guitar , Weinberg recalled the show in which they played the song "Metabolic," from the album Iowa (2001), for the first time.

“And that was really great. And then we thought, ‘Let’s make a conscious decision to learn all the songs and let’s do a show where we play the entire album.’ And that meant playing ‘The Shape’ for the first time. And that was really radical,” he recalled about the shows performed in 2016.

“As a fan and someone who really appreciates these songs, that was my moment, because I didn’t know if we’d be playing for a while or just one day. So I really wanted to make the most of it and say, ‘Yeah, we could play all the [regular setlist] songs, but let’s play these, I’ve never seen you guys play this before,’” he continued.

Still, there are some Slipknot songs that haven't yet been performed live, and Jay Weinberg has an album on his wish list for eventual shows featuring the entire album. "There are a lot of songs from Vol. 3 that haven't been played live. And I think that would be really exciting," he said.
