Jay Gordon , lead singer of Orgy , recently caused a stir by suggesting that Linkin Park has a new female vocalist.
In an interview with RadioActive with Mike Z , Gordon – who led Linkin Park on their first tour with Orgy and worked on the remix of “Pts.Of.Athrty” – commented: “It’s going to be tough without Chester, but we’ll see. I heard they have a female vocalist now. That’s what I heard.”
When pressed on the subject, Jay Gordon tried to deflect the comment, saying, “Don’t take my word for it. I’m not sure who the new vocalist will be, but I heard it was a woman. They might try to move in that direction. It would be interesting.”
Days after the interview, Gordon posted a controversial statement on Facebook saying that he “doesn’t know anything about the subject” and that his words were “taken out of context.” Despite the interview being recorded on video and showing that the comment came from Jay himself, the vocalist insisted: “I didn’t say anything about knowing anything about this subject and I never brought it up.”
In a comment, he went on to deny having said anything about Linkin Park's possible future plans: "I would never speak on behalf of another band. They know how to communicate perfectly. If something like that happens, I hope THEY are the first to share the news."
