Jason Newsted , former bassist for Metallica , has resumed activities with his old band and announced the group's first show in 10 years.
The metal quartet was named Newsted and was active between 2012 and 2014. The band consists of Jason Newsted (bass and vocals), Jessie Farnsworth (guitar and backing vocals), Jesus Mendez Jr. (drums), and the new guitarist, Humberto Perez .
Newsted's comeback show takes place on May 20th at Revolution Live in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Tickets will go on sale starting April 21st .
In February of this year, Jason Newsted revealed that he had finished a project with The Chophouse Band and was "returning to heavy music."
“In the last few weeks I’ve been auditioning guitarists for a heavy project,” Jason told Gator 98.7 . “I’m playing bass again and singing with a metal drummer – double bass, you know, getting loud again. So I’m keeping busy. I’m putting together two new projects now – but loud ones.”
There is still no information about possible new music from Newsted.
