Actor Jason Momoa will be the official host of the " Back To The Beginning " , which will take place on July 5th at Villa Park in Birmingham. This historic event will mark the final performance of the original Black Sabbath Ozzy Osbourne 's definitive farewell to the stage.

In an interview with NME ( via Metal Hammer ), Momoa revealed that the invitation came directly from Sharon Osbourne , Ozzy's wife and manager. "I was completely surprised," he said. "I was begging for tickets and suddenly I became the presenter."

Despite his enthusiasm, the actor confessed that he still doesn't know exactly what he will do on stage between performances. Besides Black Sabbath and Ozzy, the festival will feature big names like Metallica , Guns N' Roses , Slayer , and others.

From ticket request to the stage.

According to Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett , he was the one who received Momoa's request for tickets. The request was forwarded to Sharon Osbourne's team, who decided to invite the actor to be the master of ceremonies for the event. "He called me asking for tickets, and I said, 'Brother…'. After that, Sharon called inviting him to host the show. It was incredible," Hammett recounted.

Even though he never met Ozzy personally, Momoa has had indirect contact with the musician. He recorded a music video for the song "Scary Little Green Man" in 2020, which was never officially released. Furthermore, he revealed that he planned to attend Sabbath's farewell show in 2017, but had to return home due to family reasons. "I was in Birmingham and ready to go to the show, but something happened with my kids and I came back. I was quite upset, but a father is a father," he stated.

Now, Momoa sees the invitation as a new chance to be part of the history of the band he admires so much: “Ozzy released the album Ordinary Man and wasn’t doing well. They called me to do the music video, I accepted right away. And now I’m going to present Back To The Beginning!”
