Jason Bonham dedicates “Stairway To Heaven” to Vinnie Paul

The son of the legendary Led Zeppelin drummer presented a beautiful tribute to the musician

Since the news broke that Vinnie Paul , drummer and co-founder of Pantera , Damageplan , and Hellyeah , passed away at age 54 , tributes have been pouring in around the world. Online, colleagues and friends of the musician, such as Sebastian Bach , Chris Adler , and Scott Ian , among others, are mourning the loss , and now Jason Bonham has also paid tribute.

The son of legendary Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham , who also passed away too young at 32, dedicated the song "Stairway To Heaven" to the former Pantera member last Saturday, the 23rd, in Camden, New Jersey.

“It happens so fast and it’s a special song that we didn’t play last year,” Bonham said in a fan-recorded video that you can watch below, “But I felt it was the right thing to do, especially today. I’d like to dedicate this song to a dear friend, Mr. Vinnie Paul, who we lost last night. This is to celebrate, not to grieve. Let’s celebrate life. God bless you, and tell the people around you that you love them, every day. This song is for all of us.”.

The drummer died after suffering a heart attack on Friday night, the 22nd, according to the Las Vegas Review . The family has not yet confirmed the cause of death.
