Considered one of the most influential rock bands of the 80s, Jane's Addiction is coming to Brazil for a solo show on March 23rd at Audio, in São Paulo, and to perform at Lollapalooza two days later.
Founded in 1985, the Californian band initially made a name for itself in the underground scene, but quickly became a reference and influence for more mainstream groups. The founder, Perry Farrell , is the creator of the Lollapalooza festival, an event where the band always performs.
In preparation for the show at Audio, we've highlighted three reasons why you shouldn't miss this opportunity to see Jane's Addiction in a more intimate setting. Check it out!
Jane's Addiction's special performance at Audio is another production by Move Concerts, and tickets are already on sale at the Livepass website , with prices ranging from R$180.00 (half-price general admission) to R$500.00 (full-price VIP box).
Show outside of Lollapalooza Brazil
Jane's Addiction always performs at Lollapalooza Brazil, and anyone who's been to the festival knows they have an incredible stage presence. This time, fans have the opportunity to see the band in a smaller, more intimate space at Audio, in São Paulo. The set is expected to be presented in a different way, but still very dynamic with plenty of rock and roll.
Josh Klinghoffer will replace Dave Navarro.
Guitarist Dave Navarro has unfortunately had to leave the Jane's Addiction tour due to a "long bout of COVID-19." In a statement , the band said they need to wait for the musician to recover, but to avoid canceling the tour, they invited Josh Klinghoffer, former guitarist of the Red Hot Chili Peppers , to take his place. See below:
“We’d like to talk about the issues surrounding Dave and Jane’s upcoming shows. As a band, we’re in a great place, writing new songs, and the connection [between the members] is stronger than ever. We hope Dave can play with us when he feels healthy and ready.”
For the foreseeable future, our brother Josh Klinghoffer will be joining us for shows on the West Coast, South America, and some additional international shows that will be announced soon. We'd like to thank you for being with us during these strange thirty-odd years. You know, we'll keep throwing parties for you.
Perry, Eric & Stephen
This show is one of the last before the release of the new album.
As mentioned above in the press release, Jane's Addiction is working on their first album since The Great Escape Artist in 2011. This is great news for fans, but for those who want to see the group live in their current lineup with their classic repertoire, this is a great opportunity. The next time the group is in Brazil, a new album may already have been released, completely changing the setlist.
