Jane's Addiction announced that Dave Navarro will not be participating in the North American tour with the Smashing Pumpkins. The guitarist is still suffering from the after-effects of what he calls "long COVID," which he says has been manifesting since December.
In a statement on social media , Navarro apologized and said he was "devastated," since the members' intention was to reunite the entire original lineup. "I was hoping to be fully recovered by October, but I still feel very fatigued and will not be able to participate in this part of the tour," he wrote.
“I’m devastated, especially with the return of our original bassist, Eric Avery. We wanted to bring the original lineup back for you, but that will have to wait until I’m recovered. While the band is on tour, I’ll be in the studio in Los Angeles, working on new Jane’s music.”
Navarro will be temporarily replaced in Jane's Addiction by guitarist Troy Van Leeuwen , who has previously played with Queens Of Stone Age , Failure , A Perfect Circle , Eagles of Death Metal , and The Damned .

Jane's Addiction at Lollapalooza Brazil
In March, Jane's Addiction canceled their participation in Lollapalooza Brazil 2022. At the time, no further details were given, but it's possible that Dave Navarro was already suffering the long-term consequences of COVID, which he claims to have been battling since December 2021.
