Due to internal conflicts, Jane's Addiction announced last Monday, the 16th, that they would be taking a break from band activities and, consequently, canceling the remaining shows on their current tour. The news was given through the band's Instagram, shortly after a fight between the members during a performance in Boston.

The Los Angeles alternative rock group recently returned to its original lineup, featuring Perry Farrell , Dave Navarro , Stephen Perkins , and Eric Avery . The band released its first new song with the classic lineup in 34 years, the single “Imminent Redemption.” This return culminated in a tour of the United Kingdom and then the United States.

However, during a show that took place last week at the Leader Bank Pavilion in Boston, tensions between the band members began to rise. There is a video showing vocalist Perry Farrell and guitarist Dave Navarro confronting each other mid-song. Farrell then throws a punch at Navarro. Another man then jumps between them, interrupting the fight. The show was then stopped.

Tour pause and cancellation

Now, after cancelling their show in Bridgeport on September 15th, the band has shared an official statement with fans. The statement confirms the cancellation of the tour and the group's hiatus.

"To all the fans, the band has made the difficult decision to take some time off as a group. Therefore, they will be cancelling the remainder of their tour," the statement reads.

In addition, Navarro, Avery, and Perkins also shared another update with fans, citing the vocalist's "mental health difficulties" as the main factor in the split.

“Due to a continued pattern of behavior and the mental health difficulties of our lead vocalist Perry Farrell, we have come to the conclusion that we have no choice but to interrupt the current US tour,” they wrote. “Our concern for his health and personal safety, as well as our own, left us no alternative. We hope he finds the help he needs.”

They continued: “We deeply regret that we cannot accommodate all of our fans who have already purchased tickets. We see no solution that guarantees a safe environment on stage or that allows us to reliably deliver a great performance every night. Our hearts are broken. Dave, Eric and Stephen.”
