On the eve of the premiere of Stranger Things 5 , Netflix announced this Tuesday, the 11th, the exclusive event Strange Parade, which will feature the presence of Jamie Campbell Bower , the actor who plays the villain Vecna .
The event will be free and open to the public and will feature a grand parade to celebrate the previous four seasons of the series. The Strange Parade takes place on November 23rd, between gates 9 and 10 of Ibirapuera Park (Av. Pedro Álvares Cabral), in São Paulo, starting at 3:30 PM.
Jamie Campbell Bower caused quite a stir in the fourth season of Stranger Things playing Vecna. In 2022, while promoting the series, he made a brief trip to Brazil Meet & Greet event .
Netflix production's plot , the villain is responsible for entering the minds of people with traumatic experiences and causing bloody deaths. The only salvation from this terrible fate is a connection to music – a theme that was heavily used throughout the season, especially in the arc of the character Eddie Munson , who is an avowed headbanger, a fan of Dio , and in the final episode delivers a guitar solo of Metallica .
In addition to the connection of Eddie's own actor, Joseph Quinn , with heavy music and his preparation for the character, actor and musician Jamie Campbell Bower also has his own history with rock and reveals that he listened to a lot of "heavy dark metal" to get into the mind of the villain he would have to portray.
Jamie Campbell Bower was in a punk rock band and is a fan of black metal.
In an interview with Rock Sound , Jamie said he listened to a lot of Revenge , Carpathian Forest , and Norma Jean , but that his references were "predominantly" dark metal. "Black metal is very exciting for me, from an artistic perspective, because black metal artists live it. I love that in art, when it's something very pure and true that you can feel when you're listening. I tried to absorb as much of that energy as possible to connect with that dark reality," he recounts.
Jamie Campbell Bower is also a singer and songwriter, and for several years was the vocalist for the punk rock band Counterfeit , which was described by the website Rock On as "the rebirth of British rock". The group was formed in 2015 in London and released only one album before their split in 2020. The album Together We Are Stronger (2017) contains only 10 tracks, but was preceded and followed by a variety of singles dating back to shortly before the members' separation.
Currently, Bower is pursuing a solo career and recently released a cover of Sleep Token and his own song "The Witch Of Bodmin Moor." In a 2022 interview with Kerrang!, the singer stated that being a solo artist now allows for more "creative freedom" than he had in Counterfeit, but he assures that he has maintained "many of the rock elements" in his new sound, along with other references that "didn't quite fit" in the band.
