After 12 years, James LoMenzo returned to play with Megadeth as a replacement for David Ellefson , who left the band amid a sex scandal earlier this year.

Recently, the bassist commented on how he feels about being back on stage with his bandmates. “I’ve been doing this for six weeks and I’m having the best time,” he stated. “ Dave [ Mustaine ] has been very welcoming and supportive, and the whole band is fantastic. Dirk [ Verbeuren ] is the dream drummer for this kind of music and Kiko [ Loureiro ] Gibson guitar , his sound is much more aggressive than I remembered.”

LoMenzo also commented on how he received the invitation to return to Megadeth. “Dave’s team contacted me first to see if I would be available, which I wasn’t, but after speaking with Dave on the phone, I realized how important this would be for Megadeth and for myself. Time was running out, so I knew it would be overwhelming, but having been a part of it before, the relearning curve was much less steep,” he said.
