James LaBrie of Dream Theater is preparing to release his fourth solo album, Beautiful Shade of Grey . The album arrives on May 20th, but the singer has given a new taste of what's to come by releasing the second single, "Give & Take".
Regarding the track, LaBrie commented: “This track is about the coercive manipulation between the corporate elite and the working class. It’s an atmospheric soundscape with beautiful feeling and scope.”
Bassist Paul Logue , a James LaBrie collaborator, described the song as a balance of Dream Theater , Eden's Curse , and Queensrÿche that “allows James' vocals to really shine, while the lyrics take the listener on a journey through the classic tale of good versus evil.”
