James LaBrie lists his favorite Led Zeppelin albums: "Phenomenal"

The Dream Theater vocalist also recalled the occasion when he received praise from Robert Plant.

In a recent interview, James LaBrie of Dream Theater named his favorite Led Zeppelin and also talked about an episode in which he received praise from Robert Plant .

At first, the vocalist found it quite "cruel" to have to choose between the iconic discography, but he soon named the albums Led Zeppelin I, II and III . "I think of it this way: these guys arrived in 1968 with Zeppelin I. Eleven years later, they released their last album, In Through the Out Door . If you think about their catalog, what they created in 11 years – it's phenomenal," said LaBrie.

James also commented that if Led Zeppelin were to emerge today, they would "blow the minds of anyone and everyone on this planet." This, according to him, is due to the quality of the individual work of each of the musicians who make up the band. LaBrie seemed to find it surreal that so many talented musicians ended up meeting each other, even more so "on this island called the United Kingdom."

He also recounted the time he bumped into Robert Plant and Jimmy Page at a bar, and how the vocalist praised Dream Theater. “I was at the bar, and I don’t drink when I’m on tour, so I was having a soda or something, and suddenly Robert Plant comes up [and says]: ‘Hey, man? I saw you guys the other day. You sound really good’,” he said.

Then, Robert reportedly asked him for a cigarette, but LaBrie replied that he didn't smoke. "He said, 'Good for you, good for you,' and left," he concluded.
