Dream Theater vocalist James LaBrie was considered the most underrated metal singer, with 46% of the votes. David Reece of Accept and Warrel Dane of Nevermore came in a distant second and third place, with 26% and 10% respectively.
Canadian James LaBrie began his musical studies at age 5, singing and playing drums. It wasn't until he was 17 that he abandoned the instrument and focused solely on his voice. After working with several bands, LaBrie became the vocalist for the band Winter Rose in the 1980s, shortly before auditioning in 1990 and joining Dream Theater, where he remains to this day.
In 2010, LaBrie was voted the 15th best vocalist of all time by Music Radar. Regarding his current vocal influences, LaBrie cites the bands Sleeping With Sirens, Bring Me the Horizon, and Killswitch Engage.
