James Kottak , former drummer of Scorpions , died last Tuesday (09).
According to g1 , the information was confirmed by TMZ directly with the artist's daughter, but the cause of death has not yet been revealed.
Kottak joined the Scorpions in 1996 and played with the band for 20 years, until he was fired in 2016, supposedly due to problems with alcoholism. He participated in the albums Eye II Eye (1999), Moment of Glory (2000), Acoustica (2001), Unbreakable (2004), Humanity: Hour I (2007), Sting in the Tail (2010), Comeblack (2011) and Return to Forever (2015).
On social media, the members of Scorpions mourned the death of their former bandmate with a message. “Such sad news… Our dear friend and drummer for 20 years, James Kottak, passed away at the age of 61. James was an incredible person, a great musician and a loving family man. He was our brother from another mother and will be greatly missed. Rock 'n' roll forever. Rest in peace, James,” they wrote.
