James Hetfield will make his first public appearance after rehabilitation.

Metallica's frontman will display ten of his cars at an event in Los Angeles.

In September 2018, Metallica announced that James Hetfield had checked into rehab to treat addictions he had struggled with for years. Now, the vocalist has made his first public appearance since then.

The frontman confirmed he will be at the opening night of Reclaimed Rust: The James Hetfield Collection on January 30th, an event that will feature ten of his custom cars on display. James is expected to participate in a conversation and help auction off two of his ESP guitars.

The exhibition will take place at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, and according to the museum's executive director, Terry L. Karges, the event "brings together two industries that go hand in hand with artistic expression. This is the first time Hetfield's collection will be on public display, and we can't wait to share the inspiration behind these extraordinary vehicles with the world."
